Calcined petroleum coke is used as the carbon additive in steel mills and foundry plants; made cathode or anode for Aluminum plants.

Widely used in steel-metallurgy as the raw-material of graphite electrode, in aluminum-metallurgy as carbon resources and the stuff of graphite paste for electrobath. It is also used to make carborundum, calcium carbide and other carbon products.
